Posted July 4, 2019 A hotfix has gone out that changes the requirements for the Fighting on Two Fronts achievement, removing the Mechagon Fight Club chest from the list, as it's yet to be obtainable. This means the Ripple in Space Rank 2 essence is now actually obtainable, as it's the reward for getting the achievement.

During World War II there were two major fronts of war. The European war front where allied forces fought Germany and where the holocaust took place and the Asia-pacific war front. This is where America got involved in WWII after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941.

Concentration camps, along side the Holocaust and allied forces being attack was America’s soul reason for involving itself into the European front of the war. American fought to eliminate the fascist government in Germany and stopping the deaths of millions of Jews. As this fight of democracy around the world was happening America was also fighting a domestic or at home problem of inequality. WWII made America and Americans to move away from nationalism or isolationism to involvement in world affairs. This posed a real issue for America, if we were going to join a war based on treatment of other people then we darn well fix the same problem at home. A double victory or The Double-V campaign was proposed, win at home and overseas, show the rest of the world that America is changing for the better.

The pacific front or Asian front was the initial part of the war that America involved itself in. On 1941 the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor as a warning attack so to speak to warn America to stop interfering with resources Japan wishes to obtain. This was an attack on the sleeping lion. Little did Japan know that this event is what will initiate American involvement in the war. The result of this attack, made America do drastic things for the war effort. Roosevelt orders for the relocation of all Japanese and Japanese-Americans to be moved to internment camps. This meant that anyone of Japanese background would be imprisoned during the war to protect the threat of an on American soil attack.

As a result of both war fronts America faced many of the same key ideas for the reasons of attacks. America is fighting for democracy around the world especially in the European front, but then America imprisons their own people during the war in the Pacific front to stop disloyalty of Japanese Americans. This poses a real hypocritical notion for America. The question arises, how can America fight to tell another country they can’t imprison their people and segregate or oppress them when America is doing the same? America shows that their actions are not the same because of the conditions of the camps. The camps were only designed to protect America from any form of domestic attack, with this America made sure the conditions were still good, giving the people newspapers to read, church, and fun activities.

Another major result this time from the Pacific front was the use of Nuclear weapons in war. This is the first time any single weapon was used and could make that much damage. This event in this front changed the whole rules and morals of war. The pacific front made America take drastic and barbaric measures to win. The destruction of Japan was astronomical, most of their major cities mirror ours in size more that 50 percent destroyed. This part of the war shredded light on the importance on no nuclear war should ever happen again.

The idea of nuclear war then moved over to the European front expressing how much each of these fronts were totally different but had a form of impact on the events of American intervention. The treat of a nuclear weapon being developed in Germany heightens the alert and preparation of America. With the destruction seen in Hiroshima and Nagasaki America was fearful of a nuclear weapon in the hands of Hitler. Germany surrenders in May of 1945 luckily never obtaining a nuclear weapon.

America did understand the issues it faced back home soon making progress of desegregation in the military in 1948. America involved itself in both war fronts, fighting for democracy and revenge, then understanding their similar oppression at home and soon beginning to make progress of true double victory and showing to the world that American made the best out of it’s WWII interaction.
